Railway map around Kobe-Sanda Campus
Kwansei Gakuin University has three campuses: Kobe-Sanda Campus (in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture), Nishinomiya-Uegahara Campus (in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture), and Osaka-Umeda Campus (in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture). School of Science and Technology is on Kobe-Sanda Campus (KSC).
Sanda City is located in the western-central part of Japan. It is about 60 minutes from Osaka or Kobe, and about 90 minutes from Kyoto by train.
Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the most convenient airport to come to Sanda from overseas. From Kansai International Airport, take a limited express “Haruka” of West Japan Railway(JR) to Shin-Osaka Station (Haruka does not stop at Osaka) or a local train “Kanku Kaisoku” of JR to Osaka Station, then take a local train of JR Fukuchiyama Line bound for Shin-Sanda, Sasayama-guchi, or Fukuchiyama and get off at Shin-Sanda Station (for KSC) or Sanda Station (for hotels). You might have to change trains at Osaka, Amagasaki, or Takarazuka Stations. If you stay at Hotel New Hankyu Kobe Sanda, take another ride of Kobe Dentetsu Line from Sanda Station to Woody-Town-Chuo Station. The hotel is just one minute walk from the station.
When you come to Sanda from Tokyo or other districts in Japan, please take Shinkansen (Shinkansen line is not shown in the railway map below.) to Shin-Osaka Station or Shin-Kobe Station (Shin-Kobe Station is not shown in the map). At Shin-Osaka Station, please change to a local train of JR Fukuchiyama Line bound for Shin-Sanda, Sasayama-guchi, or Fukuchiyama. From Shin-Kobe Station, a direct bus line 38 to KSC is available. Take a bus bound for Gakuen-nana-chome and get off at Kwansei-Gakuin-mae. Please refer to the map of bus lines around KSC below. It takes about 52-60 minutes, and the fare is 800Yen. You can also use Osaka International Airport or Kobe Airport for domestic flights.

Time and fare from Kansai International Airport
From JR Shin-Sanda station to KSC, bus lines 45, 46(Express), and 48 are available. Express buses take about 15 minutes to KSC and other buses take about 20 minutes. The fare is 300Yen.

Around KSC, there are three bus stops; Gakuen-san-chome, Kwansei-Gakuin-mae, and Kobe-Sanda-Campus-mae, but getting off at Gakuen-san-chome is most convenient and cheapest when coming from the city of Sanda. From the bus stop, cross the road and go up the stone steps to the campus. You see the building of School of Science and Technology on the right side.

Getting a taxi is easy at stations and hotels in Japan, but it is expensive. From JR Shin-Sanda station to KSC, it costs about 2,000Yen.
From JR Sanda station to KSC, bus lines 70 and 72 are available but not frequent. It is better to take a
train (3 minutes, 180Yen) to JR Shin-Sanda station and take a bus there as shown above.
From Hotel New Hankyu Kobe Sanda, bus lines 45, and 46(Express) are available. Please be sure that 46 leaves “Century Plaza Mae” bus stop and 45 leaves “Woody Town Chuo Eki” bus stop. It takes about 10 minutes to KSC. The fare is 250Yen.
