International Masters Program/ Bioscience, Bioinformatics and Medical Chemistry course
In my homeland of Saudi Arabia, thirty percent of those aged 45 and over suffer from diabetes or high glucose levels, which can result in angina, heart attacks or heart failure. Upon graduating from my faculty, I decided to study, with a scholarship from the government of Saudi Arabia, at a university in Japan that has new and world-leading apparatus and technologies.
I think this program, which is conducted in English, is great for those who wish to do research or to proceed to the doctoral course.
At present, I am studying in Professor Okiyoneda’s laboratory, researching the function of genes involeved in cystic fibrosis, an intractable disease. Eventually, I would like to continue on to a doctoral course and use what I’ve learned toward a practical solution which would help patients suffering from diabetes in Saudi Arabia and around the world.
