I am primarily interested in how students' identities affect their language learning. I seek to understand how identity is created through language, and I focus on trying to understand how and when intercultural learning, or the interaction of different identities, takes place in the language classroom.
Two secondary interests are the use of new technologies for language learning and the pedagogical applications of language corpora. I am interested in how new technologies can be used for improving intercultural communication. For corpora, I am mainly interested in developing and using existing corpora for teaching English for Specific Purposes.
